App. State Wrestling Inks Four For 2011-12 Season

BOONE, N.C.– Appalachian State University wrestling head coach JohnMark Bentley has announced four student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent for the 2011-12 campaign.
Alexander Morales, Joseph Morrison, Chad Mullins and Nathan Mullins will all join Appalachian in the fall of 2011.
Alexander Morales • Lexington, S.C.
Morales has compiled a 130-30 record in three years at Lexington High School under head coach Derek Strobel. The rising senior was named to the South Carolina National Team during his freshman, sophomore and junior campaigns. Morales is a two-time state qualifier, lower state champion and region champion as well as earning the 2010 state championship in the 160-pound weight class.
Joseph Morrison • Cary, N.C.
Morrison is a combined 127-18 in three years of competition at Panther Creek High School. He has been named all-conference three times and has finished in the top 10 three times at the state championships.
Chad Mullins • Waxhaw, N.C.
Mullins will join his brother, Nathan, on the squad and comes in with a 116-27 record in three years of wrestling at Marvin Ridge High School. Mullins is an all-American that has qualified for the state tournament three times, while finishing runner-up at 140 in 2010. In addition, he was the 2010 conference wrestler of the year, regional and conference champion.
Nathan Mullins • Waxhaw, N.C.
Mullins will join his brother, Chad, on the team and has amassed a 120-26 mark as a three-year letterwinner at Marvin Ridge High School. Mullins is an all-American that has qualified for the state tournament two times where he has finished in the top five twice. Mullin has been named to the all-conference squad on two occasions and won the conference title two times, as well.
The Mountaineers are back in action again on Nov. 27 (Saturday) as they take part in the Northern Quad in Rochester, Minn. hosted by the University of Minnesota. ASU will face off against Minnesota, North Dakota State and Central Michigan.
