Takedown Report lauds Wolves as top squad in the Carolinas

Four Newberry grapplers also earn top honors in their weight classes  3/25/2011
NEWBERRY, S.C. – For the fourth year in a row, the Takedown Report has named the Newberry Wolves as the top wrestling squad in the Carolinas. The rankings include wrestling programs from all divisions and affiliations.  The Wolves scored their top ranking over many other schools, such as Division I representatives North Carolina and North Carolina State. Fellow Division II members in the top 12 include Limestone, UNC Pembroke and Belmont Abbey.  The scarlet and gray wrapped up their 2010-11 campaign with a stellar 18-3-1 dual record and finished in sixth place overall at the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships. The team also boasted four All-Americans with Connor McDonald (Rehoboth, Del.), BJ Young (Jackson, N.J.), Bryant Blanton (Summerville, S.C.) and Jake Elkins picking up the honors for the pack.
