Brothers have their sights set on state championships

TARBORO — The two brothers who wrestle for the Tarboro Vikings wrestling team have a strong passion for the sport and want to be the best in the state and win a NCHSAA state 2-A title when the time approaches. So far, Steven Barrera and David Guevara have accomplished their goals this season, but have many more ahead of them before the season is complete. The brothers want to both win state championships. They both said that former Viking wrestler Corey Smith, who won a wrestling title in 2009, was a big influence and motivation to them, because they wanted to get to the highest level they could in their weight classes as Smith did.
