Winning the Freestyle Wrestling World Cup title for the sixth time in a row, Iran defeated USA in the 2017 final match, while Azerbaijan placed third with a victory over Turkey. Four-time world medalist and Olympic bronze medal winner Hassan RAHIMI opened the dual meet against USA with a 6-0 victory over Anthony RAMOS.
