ALL-TIME Coaches (D-I) Top 70 (or so) with at least 200 wins as of July 2017
Editor’s Notes; First please note that the follow are the win totals for before the 2017-18 season so some active coaches will have more wins once the past season is included. Secondly the wins that count are for a coach while he is coaching at a D-I school. Thus if a coach has been at more than one school then some of the wins may not be included. Yet even if a coach has been at only one school and that school changes levels during that time only the wins from the time when the school was in D-I will count. Now, all wins from before the 1962-1963 season count as D-I wins since the D-II did not start until then. D-III started in the 1973-1974 season. OK, so if that did not complicate it all enough some would add in that well if it is a D-I school and they beat a D-III school then that should not count as a D-I win but what about when a D-III school beats a D-I school should that count as 1 or 2 or 3 wins? Oh, no, so far we have some record of almost 1,200 school teams and over 4,200 head coaches and over 26,000 team-seasons and over 140,000 matches! We have not had any accounting firms volunteering to do all the figuring. Oh, I have a headache just imagining it so for not accept this tentative listing with a couple of coaches with ??? by their totals for now. As always we welcome input and information.
