Murray Becomes Longest Active Coach in Division III

BROCKPORT, N.Y. – After completing his 48th season at the helm of The College at Brockport wrestling program, head coach Don Murray claimed the title of the longest active tenured head coach of any sport in Division III. Murray surpassed King’s College’s head coach, Ned McGinley, who was a 48-year veteran for the Monarch’s, and retired following the 2016-17 academic school year. Murray, who will enter his 49th season in 2018-19, has a decorated career leading the Golden Eagles, as well as national caliber athletes at the USA Wrestling, Worlds and Olympic levels. “We are extremely lucky to have such a titan of the wrestling world lead our team,” noted Brockport Director of Athletics, Erick Hart. “Coach Murray brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our wrestling program, and the success of the team speaks volumes. Don Murray has become a pillar of not only our Brockport Athletics department, but at our institution as a whole.” Rest of the story at https://gobrockport.com/news/2018/8/7/wrestling-murray-becomes-longest-active-coach-in-dIII.aspx?path=wrestling
