RALEIGH, N.C. – For the third time this season (in seven total weeks), and for the second consecutive week, NC State’s R-So. Nick Reenan was named the ACC Wrestler of the Week. At 184 pounds against Nebraska in Reynolds this weekend, Reenan took out 2018 All-American #3 Taylor Ventz 8-6. Reenan scored all three of the takedowns in the bout, and a late reversal secured the win. With the Wolfpack down 14-3 after the first five bouts against #11 Nebraska, Reenan’s win was the first of four in the final five after the intermission as NC State completed the 18-17 comeback win to improve to 6-0 on the season. Reenan improves to 7-0 on the season, 3-0 versus ranked foes, and 2-0 against top-10 opponents. Reenan was named co-ACC Wrestler of the Week this week, sharing the award with UNC’s Chip Ness who also scored an 6-4 win over Ventz the night before Reenan.
