Title IX creates inequities

Title IX has been a positive thing except where men’s programs have been canceled to create slots for women. You can call it Title IX “balance,” but ECU has 11 women’s sports and only nine for men. To create this disparity ECU added women’s lacrosse. Last time I checked, the state of North Carolina had 69 high school girls lacrosse teams and 330 boys wrestling teams. ECU once had nationally-ranked wrestling and dropped the sport. Wrestling at ECU would have been a deserved choice for the thousands of North Carolina high school wrestlers.
