Ryle High School female wrestler wins world title
CINCINNATI (WKRC) – Girls wrestling may not yet be a sport sanctioned by the Kentucky High School Athletic Association, but a Kentucky high school female wrestler just became a world champion. Olivia Messerly, who attends Ryle High School in Northern Kentucky, captured the gold medal in the U15 World Championships for United World Wrestling on the first day of the World School Combat Games on Tuesday in Budapest, Hungary. She won the title in the Women’s Freestyle 50 kg division.
