UNC WRESTLING SET FOR VISIT TO JAPAN
CHAPEL HILL — The North Carolina wrestling program will head to Tokyo, Japan, on Friday for a two-week summer training tour ahead of the 2019-20 preseason. The full team and staff will leave Chapel Hill on Friday morning and will be in Japan until August 14, training in and experiencing unique spots around the country. Including staying in the heart of the city of Tokyo, one of the team’s destinations will be in the prefecture of Gunma, known for its famous hot springs.
“It’s difficult to put into words how excited we are for this trip,” head coach Coleman Scott said. “Teams do not often get opportunities like this. We’re looking forward to training in a different location and the travel, but I’m most excited for the opportunity we’re going to have to grow together as a team. A trip like this is very valuable. We’re going to use it as a time to build our camaraderie so we can hit the ground running this season. “We know our goals, and our time in Japan is going to be the jumping-off point for them.” Rest of the story at https://goheels.com/news/2019/7/31/wrestling-set-for-visit-to-japan.aspx?mc_cid=e86ce77c5b&mc_eid=2ef7cbca4b
