Wisconsin takes the fight out of the Edinboro Scots
SAEGERTOWN, Pa. – In a showdown against Edinboro in Saegertown High School, the Wisconsin Badgers take home the 28-15 victory over the Fighting Scots, improving their record to 5-0 on the season. After taking a 1-0 loss at 125, the Badgers answered quickly. At 133, Seth Gross pinned Tye Varndell in the first period getting the Badgers back on top. Gross recorded his second pin of the season in two minutes. The fun was just getting started when 141-pounder Tristan Moran took the mat for Wisconsin. He pulled Carmine Ciotti down to the mat and recorded his first fall of the season in 4 minutes, 58 seconds, just before the second period ended. LITTLE ROCK WRESTLES IN FIRST-EVER COMPETITION AT OCU
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The Little Rock wrestling team opened a brand-new chapter today by hitting the mat in their first-ever competition at the Oklahoma City University tournament. Four Trojans came away with only one loss throughout the entire day of competition: Junior Paul Bianchi placed second at 133, freshman Joseph Bianchi came in second in the 141 bracket, freshman Jayden Carson took third at 125, and redshirt junior Jose Champagne also placed third in the 157 grouping.
“Today was a great day,” said head coach Neil Erisman. “To me, our freshmen really impressed us. They couldn’t take the easy route – they had to fight and be tough. Southeastern Wrestling Dominant in Historic Dual
LAKELAND, Fla.—Southeastern shutout Keiser in what was the first dual between two Florida programs since 1986. Isaac CrowellDylan Chatterton, and Jess Pryor each won by falls, giving Southeastern a combined 18 points. Olson DeliscaEthan Owen, and Andreus Bond won their matches by technical falls, totaling 15 more points for the Fire. #15 PITT TOPS CAMPBELL, 28-6, IN HOME OPENER
PITTSBURGH – The 15th-ranked University of Pittsburgh wrestling team used eight individual wins en route to a dominant 28-6 win over Campbell Saturday afternoon at the Fitzgerald Field House. With the win, the Panthers improve to 1-0 on the season while the Camels fall to 0-1.

St. Cloud State opens season with 3-0 record at Northeast Duals
Huskies defeat #1 ranked Pitt-Johnstown 31-6

The St. Cloud State University wrestling team opened its 2019-20 season in top order with a trio of victories at the 2019 Journeymen Northeast Duals, which were held in Troy, N.Y. on Nov. 9. The Huskies (3-0, 0-0 NSIC) started the day’s action with a big 54-0 win over American International.  SCSU then charted a huge 31-6 win over #1 ranked Pitt-Johnstown in the second match of the day at the NE Duals.  To finish the action out east, SCSU rolled to a 43-0 win over Johnson-Wales. St. Cloud State gone undefeated over the past two seasons and currently owns a 51 dual match winning streak dating back to the 2016-17 season. Wisconsin-Parkside Earns Home Victory over WISCONSIN-Whitewater
KENOSHA, Wis. — The Parkside wrestling team will hold on to the Sake Bottle for another season after the Rangers defeated UW-Whitewater 32-19 on Saturday afternoon in DeSimone Gymnasium. The Warhawks came into Saturday as the No. 5 ranked team in NCAA Division III. Saturday’s dual was Alumni Day and Military Appreciation Day for the Rangers.

DrEXEL Tops SIUE, West Liberty at Dragon Duals
LANSDALE, Pa. – The Drexel wrestling team jumped out to a 2-0 start with wins over Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and West Liberty at the Dragon Duals at North Penn High School in Lansdale, Pa. The Dragons edged past SIUE, 18-15, before a convincing 32-9 victory over West Liberty.
Drexel claimed six bonus-point victories on Saturday with two coming from Chandler Olson. The junior from Shippensburg, Pa. was one of four undefeated Dragons on Saturday. OKIE STATE Cowboys Collect 13 Titles at OCU Open
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.– Oklahoma State wrestling notched 13 first-place finishes and four additional top three honors at the team’s season opening competition on Saturday.  The Cowboys went nine-for-nine in the open class finals, and four claimed first in the freshman and sophomore division. Four weights in the open brackets came down to two Cowboys battling for first place. No. 4 Nick Piccininni won the first championship bout for the Cowboys at 125 pounds with a 10-1 major decision over Central Oklahoma’s Cody Karstetter. Arizona State Univ. Wrestling Notches Two Top-25 Wins in Saturday Doubleheader
TROY, N.Y.
 – The All-Americans led the Sun Devil charge at day one of the Journeymen Duals as they went 6-0, lifting ASU to two wins over No. 20 Virginia and No.23 Purdue. Two-time national champion Zahid Valencia backed up his preseason No. 1 rank at 184 lbs. by cruising to a victory in just over a minute against Cavalier junior Tyler Love. Z. Valencia racked up six points for the Devils with a quick pin (1:03) of his opponent for his first win of the season and the second ASU pin of the day.
All-American No. 6 Josh Shields dominated his match at 165 and was up 13-2 before recording the fall (6:23) on Sam Martino. ASU’s season got off to a winning start when No. 24 Brandon Courtney secured three points at 125 by knocking off Cavalier freshman Patrick McCormick in an 8-5 decision. Preseason #1 Hayden Hidlay Sets the Bar High
NC State will host Old Dominion on Friday at 7 PM in Reynolds Coliseum
RALEIGH, N.C. – High expectations are nothing new for R-Jr. Hayden Hidlay. He was a top-15 overall recruit out of Lewistown, Pa. when he committed to the Wolfpack.
After redshirting his first season on campus, Hidlay nabbed the No. 1 overall seed at 157 pounds at the 2018 NCAA Championships. That year he was an NCAA finalist, placing second with only one loss on the season. Last year, Hidlay repeated the All-American feat with his fourth place finish and also represented the U.S. on the U23 World Team in Romania. Now entering his third season in the Wolfpack lineup, those expectations have only grown. Devlin Takes First, Four from @PackWrestle with Podium Finishes
R-Jr. Kellen Devlin goes 3-0 at 133 pounds for first career title
CHARLESTON, S.C. – Four members of the NC State wrestling team finished with podium finishes in the first competition of the 2019-20 season, The Battle at The Citadel.
Highlighting the Wolfpack’s performance was R-Jr. Kellen Devlin taking top honors at 133 pounds, his first career tournament win. After an opening bye, Devlin scored back-to-back bonus points wins, a 17-1 tech fall then a first period pin in the semifinals. In the finals, he matched up against teammate R-Fr. Jarrett Trombley. Their battle went into OT, as Devlin scored a late reversal then added a ride out for the 3-2 win. Trombley placed second in his first tournament in a Red & White single. He started with a close 3-1 win, then scored a pin and 8-4 decision to advance to the finals. In addition to those podium finishes, a pair of Wolfpack wrestlers were third in their weight class: R-So. A.J. Leitten at 149 pounds and Fr. Chris Garrison at 184 pounds. 15 from the WolfPack to Wrestle Open Season at Battle at The Citadel
Semifinals & Finals to be streamed on SoCon Digital Network
RALEIGH, N.C. – A total of 15 members of the NC State wrestling team will open their 2019-20 season this weekend by competing in the Battle at The Citadel on Sunday. This is an open tournament, meaning those that plan on redshirting are able to compete. The semifinals and the finals will be streamed on the SoCon Digital Network. Live brackets will be available on FloWrestling. 133 and 149 pounds will send multiple entries as the Wolfpack looks to establish a starter in both weight classes before the home opener on Nov. 15. Along with NC State, Duke, Stanford, Old Dominion, The Citadel, American and Presbyterian will also be sending wrestlers to the double-elimination tournament. N.C. WolfPack Wrestling Starts Season #10 in NWCA Coaches Poll
#10 Wolfpack hosts #25 ODU Friday, Nov. 15 in Reynolds
RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State wrestling team was ranked No. 10 nationally in the preseason NWCA Division I Coaches Poll released today. Dating back over the last five seasons now, NC State has been ranked in the top-10 in the NWCA Division I Coaches Poll for 58 straight polls. Over the previous four seasons, the Pack has won 67 of its 75 duals (89.3 percent). That winning percentage sits fourth-best in the NCAA, and the 67 dual victories leads the nation (the next closest is 60). NC State will have seven duals this season against teams that are ranked in the preseason top-25.
