Dogs fall in home opener to Rutgers, 23-13
FRESNO, Calif. – Despite picking up four individual wins, the Fresno State Wrestling team fell to Rutgers, 23-13 on Friday evening in its home opener at the Save Mart Center. Fresno State (0-4) got a major decision from redshirt junior Greg Gaxiola at 149 pounds and decisions from redshirt junior DJ Lloren at 141 pounds, redshirt freshman Adam Kemp at 165 pounds and redshirt sophomore Jackson Hemauer at 174 pounds. Rutgers (4-0) countered with six victories, including three by bonus points, as the Scarlet Knights used wins in the final two matches to seal a 10-point win over the Bulldogs.

No. 12 Mizzou Wrestling Falls to Illinois at Francis Howell High School
SAINT CHARLES, Mo. – In front of a near-capacity crowd of 1,877 at Francis Howell High School, No. 12 Mizzou Wrestling lost its dual with Illinois, 19-14, Thursday night (Nov. 14). The Tigers fall to 0-2 on the season while Illinois improves to 2-1 on the year. Mizzou got wins at 141, 149, 157 and 197 pounds, including bonus-point wins at 141 and 149. However, the Illini won six of the 10 bouts and escaped with the narrow victory. It all came down to heavyweight as Mizzou trailed, 16-14, going into the evening’s final bout and Rodrigo Diaz and Illinois Luke Luffman put together a spirited battle. A late takedown by Huffman, however, ended the dual as he claimed a 9-7 decision. #20 Mines Wins Dual Debut Over Northeastern JC
GOLDEN, Colo. – Bonus points in five of eight bout wins helped #20 Colorado School of Mines win their dual opener, 34-9, over Northeastern JC on Thursday. #6 Robert Gambrell and #7 Weston Hunt started their seasons with pins while #12 Noah Ottum picked up a tech fall and #11 Skyler Lykins and Nolan Funk notched majors as the Orediggers cruised to a 1-0 dual record on the season. Elmhurst Bluejay Wrestlers Topple Chicago 33-19
ELMHURST, Ill. – The Elmhurst wrestling team evened its dual record at 1-1 for the season by defeating the University of Chicago 33-19 at R.A. Faganel Hall. Chicago (0-1) forfeited matches to the Bluejays at the 125, 141 and 174 pound weight classes to account for 18 points. NWCA Division III Pre–Season Ranking #2
Manheim, PA – The latest 2019 – 2020 National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III team and individual rankings compiled by the ranking committee on Thursday, November 14, 2019. Freshmen and transfers have been included in the individual rankings. Since many NCAA Division III wrestling programs have not competed at this point of the season, this team ranking is based on a tournament point system based on where individuals are ranked. The next team ranking to be released later this month will reflect a dual meet team ranking. Indiana Wrestling Adds Four for 2020 Signing Class
BLOOMINGTON, Ind.– IU head coach Angel Escobedo has announced the addition of four signees for the 2020 class. Jacob Moran, Derek Gilcher, Nico Bolivar and Santos Cantu will be joining the Hoosiers in the 2020 class.

Six to join Stanford Cardinal in fall 2020

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford head coach Jason Borrelli and his staff have signed six promising high school seniors to wrestle for the Cardinal starting next season. Stanford’s incoming class consists of Charlie Darracott (Flowery Branch, Ga.), Marshall Kools (Neenah, Wis.), Peter Ming (Elk Grove, Calif.), Jason Miranda (Poway, Calif.), Kyle Rowan (Perry, Ohio) and Nick Stemmet (Yorkville, Ill.). Nebraska Natives Sign On
Kearney, Neb. – Nebraska-Kearney head wrestling coach Dalton Jensen announced today that Grant Lyman (Lincoln East H.S.) and Gage Krolikowski (Valentine H.S.) have signed on with the Lopers and will take to the mats next winter. UNK has six seniors on this year’s team of 31 wrestlers. Jensen noted the Lopers will add more newcomers throughout 2019-20 season. Projected to be at 165/174 pounds for UNK, Lyman enters his senior season with an 89-41 record. Oklahoma WRESTLING ADDS THREE FOR 2020
NORMAN – Oklahoma wrestling head coach Lou Rosselli announced this week the signing of three wrestlers to National Letters of Intent. Cam Picklo will join the Sooners in January 2020. Cabe Dickerson and Greyden Penner will join the Sooners for the 2020-21 season. Dickerson, out of Altus, Okla. is a three-time member of Oklahoma’s junior national team, a three-time state finalist and a member of the 2019 national championship team.
A Super 32 National Champion, Penner joins the Sooners from Kansas City, Mo., where he attends Liberty High School. The signee is ranked number three in the nation at 170 and is a two-time Missouri State Champion. Wyoming Branch Welcomes Three New Signees
LARAMIE, Wyo. (Nov. 13, 2019) – Head Coach Mark Branch has announced the signings of three student-athletes that will join the Wyoming wrestling team beginning next fall. Darren Green, Gage Hockett and Brett McIntosh all signed their National Letters of Intent Wednesday. “We have a very diverse group of young men coming to Wyoming who can really make a positive impact on our program,” said Branch. “Coming from Ohio, Oklahoma and Colorado, these guys have competed in some of the toughest states in the country and have been very successful.
