SPRING MILLS — For a long time, the Iron Eagles youth wrestling program has opened up many doors for young wrestlers around the Eastern Panhandle. GROWING THE GAME: GIRLS WRESTLING GROWING AT YOUTH LEVEL
In West Virginia — When Kaylee Anderson stepped into the wrestling room for the Jefferson Junior Wrestling Association five years ago, the coaches didn’t exactly know it would turn the program on its head. Anderson, one of the top female wrestlers out of local youth programs, has stepped up as a pioneer in the area on the mat. A pin leader at her middle school and competing on the national level, Anderson was once the first female wrestler in the JJWA and is now a leader on her high school team in Virginia.
