Lake Norman athlete wins first college wresting gold medal
What an opening act this was. Lake Norman High School wrester Will Edmiston fashioned a first-place finish in the Open Division of the 133-pound weight class division for Gardner-Webb University’s wrestling team during participation in the annual Appalachian State University Mountaineer Invitational. Competing as an unattached entry in the affair, Edmiston logged in with convincing wins by decisions in each of his two matches for his first gold medal-winning performance during the early phases of his current freshman season with the Bulldogs.
