Quant Wrestling Dual of the Week Preview: Oklahoma vs. Oklahoma State
Oklahoma State travels Sunday to Oklahoma for the 178th edition of the Bedlam Dual. The Cowboys have owned a huge advantage in the series — Oklahoma State leads 141-27-10 — and posted a 41-2 win last year. This year’s dual, however, looks a lot more even, both in terms of rankings and after a dive into the analytics. Quant Wrestling has analyzed matches and compiled data on the probable starters for both programs. Quant Wrestling combines the discipline of big data and analytics with the sport of wrestling. They track and time every activity in a wrestling match and produce more than 400 statistics. They’ve selected the stats with the highest correlation to match results and created three metrics: Offensive Activity Rating (OAR), Defensive Activity Rating (DAR) and Total Activity Rating (TAR).
