Hayden Hidlay Once Again Tabbed ACC Wrestler of the Week

RALEIGH, N.C. – For the second time this season, and the seventh time in his career, NC State R-Jr. Hayden Hidlay has been named the ACC Wrestler of the Week. Hidlay is coming off a dominant performance at 157 pounds in the Wolfpack’s 24-12 win at Appalachian State last Friday night. Hidlay picked up his third ranked win of the season when he scored a 16-3 major decision over #20 Matt Zovistoski. Hidlay jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first and extended it to 7-2 going into the third. He then notched his third takedown of the bout, and scored a four-point and then a two-point near fall to open it up in the third period and get the bonus point win, which gave the Pack the lead for good. Zovistoski, a two-time NCAA Qualifier, was ranked #17 by FloWrestling and #20 by InterMat. The bout was a rematch between Hidlay and Zovistoski from the Wolfpack Wrestling Club Open back in November, which was narrowly won by Hidlay thanks to a third period takedown, 3-2.
