Adrian Chosen to Host the First-Ever Cliff Keen National Collegiate Women’s Wrestling Championships
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo–Adrian College has been selected to host the the first annual Cliff Keen National Collegiate Women’s Wrestling Championships (NCWWC) in Adrian, Mich., on Friday and Saturday, March 6-7, 2020. The joint announcement by USA Wrestling, Women’s Collegiate Wrestling Coalition and Adrian Athletics officials was made on Monday.  All NCAA varsity women’s wrestling programs at the Division I-II-III levels are eligible and welcome to enter. This is a historic event, as it is the first national-level tournament for college women’s wrestling programs from NCAA-affiliated universities only.
Organized by the Women’s Collegiate Wrestling Coalition, the NCWWC is an important step in the process of receiving NCAA Emerging Sport Status for women’s wrestling. In June 2019, the NCAA Committee on Women’s Athletics recommended that all three NCAA divisions add women’s freestyle wrestling as an emerging sport. These NCAA divisions are considering the women’s wrestling bid this year, and official Emerging Sport Status could be achieved as early as August 2020.
The Cliff Keen National Collegiate Women’s Wrestling Championships is not an official NCAA Championship yet, but will be held annually until the sport receives Emerging Sport Status, then qualifies as an official NCAA Championships with 40 NCAA institutions.  College programs which have been invited to the NCWCC at Adrian College include: … Rest of the story and list of college teams at https://adrianbulldogs.com/sports/w-wrestl/2019-20/releases/20191216ksrr4d?mc_cid=e30f8eb0f1&mc_eid=2ef7cbca4b

Central Catholic wrestling coaches disciplined for allowing a boy to wrestle a girl, diocese says
Central Catholic wrestling coaches were disciplined after allowing a male wrestler to compete against a female in a dual meet last week against Allen, according to Matt Kerr, spokesman for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Allentown. The diocese did not release the names of the coaches or the nature of the discipline, but John Bolich is the head coach, and Dennis Udicious is the assistant coach. Attempts to reach Central Catholic athletic director Dennis Csensits and Bolich were unsuccessful.
Bolich, in his second season as the Vikings’ head coach, sent freshman Josh Lynds out to face freshman Rachelly Montas at 132 pounds in the Dec. 11 dual meet at Allen High School. Lynds pinned Montas in 3 minutes, 27 seconds. Black Hired to Lead Women’s Wrestling Program
Oskaloosa–William Penn Athletics Director Nik Rule is proud to announce the hiring of Tucker Black as the University’s first-ever Head Women’s Wrestling Coach.
Black, a May 2019 graduate of Upper Iowa University with a degree in Agricultural Business, was a two-year starter and team captain for the Peacocks.  A strong scholar-athlete, he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was twice named an Academic All-American. “We are really excited to have Coach Black as our first women’s wrestling coach,” Rule said.  “Through the interview process he showed an authenticity that was very refreshing and something we believe student-athletes looking to compete in the sport will be attracted to. His energy and commitment to the sport is contagious, while he also has a big picture perspective on the most valuable components of the student-athlete experience. 2019 Senior Nationals: Women’s Freestyle Preview
With each passing day, the Olympic Trials get closer and tensions run higher as countless athletes try to turn a lifelong dream into reality. But before one can win the Trials to claim a spot on the Olympic Team, they must first qualify for the Trials. This weekend’s Senior Nationals is one of the best opportunities to do so, with the top five finishers at each weight will earn a berth in next Spring’s Trials. Expect to see some of the best wrestling on the planet from seasoned veterans and newcomers alike in Forth Worth. Below, I dive into each weight a little bit to paint a picture of where things stand heading into the weekend.
50 kg
The clear favorite at this weight is Victoria Anthony, who has twice finished fifth at the World Championships. Vicky can score points in bunches and has an inside trip that’s as good as any you will see at any level of wrestling. She has been one of the more consistent WFS athletes in America and all signs point to her cruising through this weight in Fort Worth. Another entry at this weight possessing World Championships experience is Alyssa Lampe, who has competed scarcely in recent years and is a bit of a wildcard … Rest of the story and outlook at http://www.hmawrestling.com/article/2019-womens-freestyle-senior-nationals-preview/?mc_cid=f2780f6030&mc_eid=2ef7cbca4b

Reversing old standards: For two Corvallis and Cut Bank wrestlers, fun is just starting
SUPERIOR — For Mariah Wahl and Kiera Davis, the dreams are just beginning. When Wahl, a sophomore at Cut Bank, stepped on the high school mat for the Wolves last year, she became the first female wrestler to compete for the school. Davis, a freshman at Corvallis and the daughter of Blue Devils head coach Matt Davis, is in her first year competing in the sport. “I’m glad that so many people are doing it, especially women, and I’m glad it’s starting to become a deal where we’re starting to get noticed a lot because we used to never get noticed for these things,” Kiera Davis said. “Having a girl step out on to a guy’s mat is a pretty good accomplishment.” Last week the pair competed at the 2019 Bob Kinney Classic, with Wahl finishing fourth in a tough 132-pound bracket and Davis going 1-2 at 103 pounds. Wahl is a standout wrestler on the AAU Team Montana and with the North Montana Wrestling Club, finishing first in the 152 pound Girls Elite folkstyle bracket at the Montana State AAU Folkstyle tournament this past March.
