1 } – Tiger Wrestling Picks Up First Win of 2021
Ouachita Baptist wrestling earned victories at eight weights Wednesday night in a 39-9 victory over Kentucky Wesleyan at Christian Brothers High School in Memphis, Tennessee. Sophomore Johnny Green’s 59-second pin put the finishing touches on the Tigers’ first win of the season. Freshman Evan Kennedy got Ouachita on the board with a narrow 11-10 victory at 133 over KWC’s Andrew Parker. And Wrestling Racks Up Five Pins In Win Over Huntingdon
The Ouachita Baptist wrestling team cruised to a 41-10 victory over Huntingdon on Thursday in the First Annual Grapple at the Grounds at Hirsh Coliseum in Bossier City, Louisiana. The Tigers recorded five pins in the victory. Freshman Noah Yeamans started the match with a 5-3 decision over Huntindon’s Loki Ryan at 125 pounds. 2 } – No.5 Men’s Wrestling Takes Dual Over Central Missouri, 48-3
(LEBANON, Ill. – Jan. 20) – The No.5 McKendree University men’s wrestling team improved to 3-1 overall after defeating University of Central Missouri, Wednesday evening. The Bearcats dominated a majority of the weight classes for a final score of 48-3. Zeke came back in the second match of the night to get McKendree back even with Central Missouri. Back-to-back pin victories in the 184-lb and 197-lb classes sparked the Bearcats and put them in a comfortable position ahead of the Mules. From there, the Bearcats ran with the lead, and finished with a score of 48-3. And Bearcats Comeback to Defeat Greyhounds, 20-11
(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Jan. 24) – The No.6 McKendree University men’s wrestling team had their third Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) competition Sunday afternoon, against the T-No.7 University of Indianapolis. The Bearcats came back in the second half of the dual to get the 20-11 conference victory and gave the Greyhounds their first loss of the season.
Cam Fusco (Arnold, MO/Seckman) got the Bearcats on the board with a decision victory, and set the tone for the following two weight classes. The Greyhounds took over heavily in the 149-lb, 157-lb, 165-lb, and 174-lb classes to get back into the dual and take the lead. 3 } – #12 Mavericks Prevail by 19-13 Margin over #20 Peacocks
Fayette, Iowa  —  12th-rated Minnesota State won six matches en route to a 19-13 victory over #20 Upper Iowa in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference wrestling action in Fayette, Iowa Thursday night. Senior Trenton McManus, ranked tenth in the nation at 125, now stands 3-0 for the season with a 3-1 decision over Kaden Anderlik. Junior Brock Luthens earned a 4-3 win over Donny Schmidt in the 133 match and he now stands 2-1 for 2020-21. Minnesota State junior Kolbe O’Brien decisioned ninth-rated Tate Murray at 141 by a 9-5 margin in staying perfect (3-0) for the year. 4 } – Northern State Sweeps Middle Weights, Rolling to Third Dual Win
Minot, N.D. – The hot start continued for the Northern State University wrestling team tonight, with a 12-point victory over Minot State. The Wolves recorded four bonus point victories in the dual, out-scoring the Beavers 97-51 in the team scored matches.

5 } – Wisconsin-Parkside Wrestling Dominates SMSU to Earn First NSIC Win
KENOSHA, Wis. – Parkside wrestling dominated Southwest Minnesota State 28-6 on Friday night to earn the team’s first dual win in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Friday night was Parkside’s first-ever Marquee Matchup powered by Upload Partners.

Parkside, who entered the night ranked No. 25 in the latest NWCA Top-25 poll, won the first eight matchups, with No. 4 Joseph Arroyo starting the day out strong on a 17-1 technical fall that finished in just 3:13. 6 } – No. 2 U. Nebraska-Kearney Has Three Dominating Wins at the Fairgrounds
Kearney, Neb. – The second-ranked Nebraska-Kearney wrestling team won 27 matches to roll past Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, No. 10 Adams State and Colorado State-Pueblo Saturday afternoon at the Buffalo County Fairgrounds. The Lopers improve to 7-3 and ran another successful Midwest Duals. The annual event began Friday with high school competition while Saturday featured colleges and kid clubs. UNK bested NEO, a junior college power, by a 43-0 score while easily getting past two former RMAC rivals in ASU, 37-9, and CSU-Pueblo, 41-6.
The highlight dual of the day came against the ASU Grizzlies. Kearney, Neb. – The second-ranked Nebraska-Kearney wrestling team used four forfeits, two falls and two tech falls to easily get past Central Missouri, 49-6, Thursday in Cushing Coliseum. 7 } – Wimer Wins Title | Earns G-MAC Wrestler of the Meet
The 15th-ranked University of Findlay Roughnecks finished fourth at the 2020-21 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championship, which was held on Jan. 23 in Owensboro, Ky. The Roughnecks accumulated 73.0 points at the championship while 9th-ranked Ashland University won the event with 115.0 points. 17th-ranked Tiffin University placed second with 75.5 points and Lake Erie College was third with 73.5 points. Senior James Wimer led the Roughnecks by picking up a conference title in the 157-pound weight class. Wimer, who is ranked third in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) individual rankings, went 3-0 at the event to take home the gold. He began the championship by pinning Tiffin’s Kolby Crowe in 2:29 and then knocked off Lake Erie’s Jacob Potok in the semifinals by a 5-0 decision. Wimer then scored an 8-3 decision against Ashland’s Drew Wiechers, who is ranked tenth individually, for the title in the final. 8 } – #18 Mines Edges #21 CMU In Final Match
GOLDEN, Colo. – Weston Hunt’s pin at 285 pounds broke a tie score and helped #18 Colorado School of Mines get past #21 Colorado Mesa, 24-18, in their RMAC opener on Saturday. The Orediggers (2-0) and Mavericks (4-4) wrestled a back-and-forth thriller, with the lead changing hands four times over the final six bouts. Although Hunt’s pin sealed the victory, it was set up #6 Anderson Salisbury’s 12-4 major decision against #7 Nolan Krone at 184 after earlier bonus-point wins by Noah Ottum and Zach Krause got Mines rolling. CMU reeled off three straight wins to start the day as Cian Apple beat Jake Stogdill, 6-3, at 125, Collin Metzgar blanked Gabe Martinez 5-0 at 133, and Danial Magana won a defensive battle with Wes Rayburn 5-1 at 141.

9} – Adams State Grizzlies go 2-1 at Midwest Duals
KEARNEY, Neb. – The No. 10 Adams State University Grizzly wrestling team went 2-1 at the 2021 University of Nebraska at Kearney Midwest Duals on Saturday. The Grizzlies picked up wins over No. 25 Chadron State to make up the January 6th meet that was postponed, and University of Central Missouri while falling to No. 2, host University of Nebraska Kearney.

The Grizzlies opened with a 25-0 lead over Chadron State as the No. 5 wrestler at 125 pounds Isaiah De La Cerda defeated Tate Stoddard with a fall in 2:49 to put ASU up 6-0. 10 } – Bronchos Romp Past North East Oklahoma
KEARNEY, Neb. (Jan. 23) – Kalin Winkler and Wyatt Jordan each scored opening-minute falls as Central Oklahoma plastered junior college powerhouse Northeastern Oklahoma A&M 37-6 Saturday afternoon in the final match of the Midwest Duals.
Winkler needed a mere 11 seconds to secure his pin at 197 pounds, while Jordan ended his 174-pound bout at the 59-second mark. The No. 3-ranked Bronchos added four other bonus-point wins in the exhibition match to polish off a perfect day, outscoring three opponents a combined 121-21
“It was a pretty good day for us, but there’s still a lot of things we need to improve on,” head coach Todd Steidley said. “We were pretty sloppy in some matches in not finishing off our shots and we have to clean that up. KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Jan. 26) — Central Oklahoma’s Paxton Rosen has been selected Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Co-Wrestler of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday. A junior 125-pounder from Edmond, Rosen had a dominating performance in the Midwest Duals last week for the No. 3-ranked Bronchos. 11 } – No. 7 Hilltopper Wrestlers Dominate at D&E
ELKINS, W.Va. – With three nationally-ranked teams – including No. 7 West Liberty – and host Davis & Elkins also receiving votes in the latest NCAA Division II Top 25 wrestling rankings, Saturday’s four-team round robin on the Senators’ mats was seen as a showdown between the cream of the Mountain East Conference wrestling crop. Coach Danny Irwin‘s No. 7-ranked Hilltoppers turned that showdown into a showcase for the Black and Gold’s most dominant performance of the season, winning 36 of the 41 matches wrestled in the hybrid format and staking their claim as the team to beat in the MEC this year. 12 } – No. 1 wrestling earns 25-9 win over Augustana
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The St. Cloud State University wrestling team is back. After a two week hiatus, the Huskies returned to competition Sunday and made quite the statement in their Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) dual against Augustana University. St. Cloud State marched into Sioux Falls, South Dakota and took down the Vikings 25-9, improving to 2-0 on the season and 2-0 in NSIC play.  There was little to no rust visible in the Huskies first three matches of the dual, as Paxton Creese (Shakopee, Minn. / Shakopee), Garrett Vos (Bonifacius, Minn. / Waconia) and Joseph Bianchini (Elk Grove Village, Minn. / Immaculate Conception) all earned key victories to give St. Cloud State an early lead. And Pins lead Huskies to 25-13 win over Minnesota State
ST. CLOUD, MINN. – Wrestling duals between St. Cloud State University and Minnesota State University Mankato are always intense, maybe none more so than Thursday evening.  In a dual that included 11 nationally ranked wrestlers, both Huskies and Mavericks fans were on the edge of their seats in Halenbeck Hall waiting to see whether or not one team would extend history or another would stop it.
