Here is this week’s Div. I college wrestling schedule, broken up by conference. Please note that we are including the most current NWCA Div. I poll rankings, as published on February 16. Most of the Div. I programs have finished their dual meet season, with only nine Big Ten matches and two Big 12 matches. Of these bouts, five of the dual meets include two ranked teams. On Monday, No. 1 Iowa gave an update, since the program had paused activities last week. The team is returning to limited in-person activity, but their Friday dual meet against Northwestern has been postponed. At this time, the status of their Sunday dual meet at No. 25 Wisconsin had not yet been determined. It remains on the schedule, but its status is still in question. On Tuesday, Davidson College, which competes in the Southern Conference, announced that it had paused wrestling activities, finishing its season completely. Davidson will not compete at the SoCon Championships, which is scheduled for Sunday, February 28 at Appalachian State. … rest of story at https://www.teamusa.org/USA-Wrestling/Features/2021/February/17/This-weeks-NCAA-Div-I-schedule?mc_cid=76aa098ad3&mc_eid=2ef7cbca4b

2 } – Slight movement in Top 25 heading into final week of Division I regular season
Manheim, Pennsylvania – While there were no new teams in the NWCA Division I Coaches Poll released on Tuesday, there were slight shifts of teams within the Top 25. There’s a new No. 2 as Penn State (4-0) beat Michigan 18-13 on Sunday morning to move the Nittany Lions behind No. 1 Iowa (5-0). Michigan slid to fourth after the loss. Virginia Tech closed out a perfect regular season at 9-0 after a 27-12 win over No. 16 Pittsburgh to claim the ACC regular season title. Seventh-ranked NC State topped Duke 37-6, while Minnesota opened up the weekend with a brunch time 27-7 win over then-No. 19 Wisconsin. 3 } – Top 10 College Wrestling Performances of the Week – February 15th, 2021
As quickly as it started, the college regular season is almost gone. Valentine’s Day weekend marked the end of the regular season for the ACC school’s and many others around the country. Some will compete next weekend. Others like American and Lock Haven are expected to make their season debuts at their conference tournaments. Speaking of debuts, this past weekend, we saw three wrestlers, currently ranked #1 at their respective weights, make their first appearances of the year. Like most things in 2020 and 2021, the conference tournament schedules will be unusual. The majority will take place two weeks from now, while others will be conducted the first weekend of March.  Another new wrinkle in 2021 has been the flexibility of scheduling. After Iowa’s program was temporarily shut down, Michigan added a dual with Penn State on the fly. An unplanned dual between a pair of top-three teams in the nation, on only a few days’ notice, live on the Big Ten Network…YES PLEASE!
So this weekend had a battle between two national heavyweight teams, one of the best traditional rivalries in all of sports, a national champion going down, one of the best comebacks of the year, and the question…is it really an upset if it happens two weeks in a row? That and more in the top ten college performances of the week.
10) Brock Mauller (Missouri)
The third-ranked 149 lber in the nation, Brock Mauller, faced his most substantial test of the season on Sunday afternoon at the Cowboy Challenge. After notching a pair of wins against Warren Carr (Wyoming) and Jarod Kadel (Oklahoma State), Mauller advanced to meet four-ranked Boo Lewallen (Oklahoma State) in the championship bout. … rest of story at https://news.theopenmat.com/college-wrestling-news/top-10-college-wrestling-performances-of-the-week-february-15th-2021/80029?mc_cid=9e45a80a12&mc_eid=2ef7cbca4b
