College Women’s Wrestling Results – Mid-Dec. ’23

MOUNT OLIVE records sweep on final day at Patriot Duals
WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (Dec. 2) – On the final day of the Patriot Duals, the University of Mount Olive women’s wrestling team registered a sweep after capturing dual match wins over Siena Heights, Tiffin, and the host University of the Cumberlands on Saturday. 
With the victories, the Trojans improve to 4-3 overall in dual meet competition, including ranked wins over No. 18 Tiffin and No. 13 University of the Cumberlands.
Below are the team scores from today’s dual meets.
Mount Olive over Siena Heights (NAIA), 38-11
Mount Olive over No. 18 Tiffin (NCAA Division II), 30-18
Mount Olive over No. 13 University of the Cumberlands (NAIA), 30-18
Against Siena Heights, Mount Olive received a forfeit at the 101-weight class to take an early lead before winning five consecutive matches to take a significant 30-0 advantage. At 109, junior Samantha Miller registered a first-period fall over Valeria Ahumada before sophomore Gracie Cordasco followed with victory via fall against Mia Hotchkiss in the 116-weight class. Redshirt sophomore Brooke Hermel claimed another first-round pin versus Paige Leonard at 123, while freshman Ayonna McNeill posted a win by fall over Cadence Wallace in the 130-weight class. Fellow freshman Brielle Bibla competed at 136 and recorded a fall in just 35 seconds against Athena Colderon. The Saints answered back with a win at 143 before sophomore Nia Miranda delivered a 10-0 tech fall at 155 versus Alexus Shaneyfelt. In the 170-weight class, sophomore Aleksandra Bieszczad produced a dominant 16-6 tech fall over Aaliyah Lee to extend the lead to 38-6. Sioux Falls Women’s Wrestling Advances to 4-0 on the year with wins over Augsburg and Morningside

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Sioux Falls Women’s Wrestling hosted Augsburg University and Morningside University this evening coming away with a 38-10 victory over the Auggies and a 40-5 victory over the Mustangs. Ava McNeal went 2-0 on the night at 101-pounds with a 1:23 pin over Gigi Gammell of Augsburg and a forfeit against Morningside to advance to 4-0 on the season.
At 109-pounds, Paw Hobza went 2-0 with two forfeits on the evening and sits 6-4 on the year.
Paige Denke also saw two forfeits on the night at 116-pounds holding a 3-0 season record.
Rei Ogden competed at 123-pounds for the Coo going 2-0 with a 10-0 tech. fall win in 1:38 against Adelynn Flaschberger of Augsburg and a 1:30 pin over Adilene Delgadillo of Morningside. Ogden is 15-3 on the year.

#5 Pioneers Capture Second Northeast Duals Title
SHU takes down #9 NJCU, #22 Elmira, #10 ESU, and WNEU
East Stroudsburg, PA – The Sacred Heart women’s wrestling team established itself as one of the best teams in the region as the fifth-ranked Pioneers captured their second straight Northeast Dual title on Sunday afternoon on the campus of East Stroudsburg University. 
The Pioneers finished the afternoon with an undefeated record of 4-0 after defeating three top-25 teams – New Jersey City University, Elmira College, and East Stroudsburg – and Western New England University.
Final Standings:

  2. East Stroudsburg (3-1)
  3. Elmira (2-2)
  4. Western New England (1-3)
  5. NJCU (0-4) 

Notables:
