Brown University Wrestling Takes Down Davidson; Falls to The Citadel at Davidson Duals
DAVIDSON, N.C. – Brown wrestling split its two matches at the Davidson Duals on Friday. The Bears took down the Wildcats, 24-10, and fell to The Citadel, 26-10.
The Bears won six of nine matches in the win over Davidson. Junior Hunter Adrian (133) got it started with a 6-1 decision over freshman John Hager, junior Ian Oswalt (141) won by a 9-1 major decision against sophomore Jackson Sichelstiel and junior Blake Saito (157) took an 8-0 major decision over sophomore Tanner Peake to give Brown an 11-3 advantage.

Gardner-Webb Splits at the Davidson Duals
Runnin’ Bulldogs go 1-1 defeating Cleveland State and falling to Lock Haven
DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb University wrestling squad earned a split at the Davidson Duals on Thursday earning a 22-18 victory over Cleveland State University, and a 30-14 loss to Lock Haven University.
Six Runnin’ Bulldogs earned wins over their Cleveland State opponents with Samuel Mora earning a victory by fall against CSU’s DeAndre Nassar in the 174-weight class. The ‘Dawgs were able to earn key wins in the higher classes to keep ahead of the Vikings and earn the win. Jha’Quan Anderson remined 2-0 on the day besting CSU’s Joey Lyons via major decision, and Lock Haven’s Colin Fegley. Josh McCutchen also went 2-0 at the Duals defeating CSU’s Carson Smith, and winning against Lock Haven via forfeit.
Gardner-Webb will return to the mat to host Duke University in Paul Porter Arena on Jan. 16 at 6:00 p.m.

Saints Bounce Back with 26-19 Conference Win Over Allen
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Looking to bounce back from an earlier defeat, the Limestone University wrestling team took care of business at Allen on Wednesday evening, taking down the Yellow Jackets by a final of 26-19. Senior Trey FInnearty (The Plains, Ohio) kick started the scoring for Limestone with an impressive 16-1 tech fall win in the 125 lb. weight class, giving the Saints an early 5-0 lead. However, a forfeit by the Blue and Gold at 133 lbs. followed by a 7-4 decision in the 141-lb. bout gave Allen a 9-5 lead through three matches.
Limestone took complete control of the match over the next three bouts as senior Brandon Seawright (Birmingham, Ala.) tallied a fall at 149, followed by a 20-3 tech fall by senior Markeith Drakeford-Yegge at 157.
