In a Monday Reunion, Princeton Wrestlers Defeat Morgan State
In a reunion of Mondays father and son, the Princeton wrestling team welcomed Morgan State to Jadwin Gym on Saturday as Kenny Monday, coach of a Morgan State program competing this season for the first time since 1997, coached against a Tiger team with his son Quincy Monday on the Princeton bench as an assistant coach alongside head coach Joe Dubuque after Monday’s outsanding Princeton wrestling career wrapped up last winter with a third All-American honor.
The 39-3 win was Princeton’s second straight dual-match victory of the season, and it came just two days after Dubuque got his first win as Princeton’s head coach, coming down Route 206 at Rider.
Rookie Drew Heethuis opened the match with a tech-fall win at 125, reaching the margin early in the third period after breaking it open in the second with 12 points on three four-point near-falls. At 133, Sean Pierson followed that with another tech fall, getting his with less than a minute to go in the second period after turning in a three-point takedown and a four-point near-fall in each of the first two periods. … story at … GOprincetontigers.com/Wrestlings-match-vs-morgan-state
