HAWKEYES SWEEP WARRIOR DUALS
FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The second-ranked University of Iowa women’s wrestling team defeated Campbellsville and Indiana Tech at the Warrior Duals on Friday Afternoon. They finished the day with 10 technical falls and seven pins. The Hawkeyes started the afternoon with a, 42-2, win over ninth-ranked NAIA Campbellsville. Emilie Gonzalez and Ava Bayless opened the dual with tech. falls over their opponents. Brianna picked up her 12th pin of the season at 116 over Icart Galumette. Freshman Ava Rose followed that with a pin of her own in 2:20 over Josie Davis. At 136, Emmily Patneaud made her Hawkeye debut and won via decision, 4-0, over Gabriella Perez. Ella Schmit avenged her Missouri Valley Open loss to Emma Walker by pinning Walker in 2:24 at 143. Bella Mir and Haley Ward won via tech. falls at 155 and 170, respectively. Jaycee Foeller closed out the dual with a pin in 1:06 over Lexiana Garcia. In the second dual of the day, Iowa defeated, 13th-ranked NAIA, Indiana Tech, 42-0. E. Gonzalez secured her second tech. fall of the day at 101 to open the dual. Bayless downed Tehani Soares at 109 via decision, 6-0. The Hawkeyes went on to win via tech. falls at 116, 123, 130 and 136. Fort Wayne, IN – UC traveled to compete in the Warrior Duals, sweeping through their competition to post an overall record of 4-0 with 10 undefeated wrestlers. Among the 10 UC wrestlers to go undefeated is #5 Elizabeth Dosado (4-0), #6 MaQuoia Bernabe (4-0), #6 Micah Fisher (4-0), #19 Ariana Pereira (4-0), Jaine Stephens (3-0), #6 Presley Anderson (2-0), #14 Kaitlin Castro (2-0), #11 Chamira Cooper (2-0), Ashley Courtney (2-0), and Allyson Arrington (1-0).
#7 CUMBERLANDS SWEEPS PAST #13 INDIANA TECH, 38-6
UC marked three falls, three decisions, and two tech falls in a 38-6 victory over the #13 Warriors. #5 Dosado sparked the match for the Pats with a 6-3 decision in the 101-bout over #7 Makayla Young. Dosado took an early lead over her opponent with a pushout and a two-point takedown in the first period. In the second period, she tallied another two-point takedown and a pushout to secure the victory. The Warriors tied the team score at 4-4 after the 109-weight class, but #6 Anderson continued her hot streak with a 10-0 tech fall with two, four-point takedowns and a two-point takedown. In the 123-bout, #14 Castro marked a fall in 2:36 to raise the team score to 13-4 in favor of UC. The Patriots continue to rally with an 11-6 decision from Arrington in the 130-weight class. Arrington sparked the match with a pushout and a two-point takedown, ending the first period with a 3-1 advantage. Back-to-back four-point takedowns in the second period raised the team score to 16-5 in favor of the Pats. USF Women’s Wrestling Defeats Minot State 42-6

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – USF Women’s Wrestling defeated Minot State 42-6 tonight to advance to a 6-0 dual record on the season. The Beavers were open at 101-, 109-, 123-, 170- and 191-pounds giving the Coo 25-points in forfeits. Paige Denke opened the dual at 116-pounds defeating Skye Shelmerdine in a 10-0 tech. fall and advances to 7-2 on the year. At 130-pounds, Teila Peters came from behind to defeat Bella Hernandez in a 2:42 fall and is now 12-7 thus far. Women’s Wrestling Defeats New England College, 29-14
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (January 26, 2024) – The Western New England women’s wrestling team improved in their victory from just 20 days ago when the visiting Pilgrims of New England College came to down, as the Golden Bears took down NEC by a final score of 29-14 on Friday night from the Anthony S. Caprio Alumni Healthful Living Center. 
How it Happened: The Golden Bears recorded a forfeit win off the bat, seeing Ariel Casella (116 lbs.) claim victory. Janieliz Cotto came away with a pinfall victory for the Golden Bears in 0:50 over Olivia Delegas to earn Western New England five additional points. Women’s Wrestling Split at the NYS Collegiate Duals
ELMIRA, N.Y. – Closing out their dual season at the New York State Collegiate Championships, the D’Youville University women’s wrestling team split their duals. The Saints (9-8) fell to No. 21 Elmira College by the score of 35-14 before getting the 35-0 win over Utica University.

HAWKEYES FINISH WARRIOR OPEN WITH 4 CHAMPIONS
FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The second-ranked University of Iowa women’s wrestling team finished the weekend in Indiana with four first-place finishes at the Warrior Open, and earned a total of 457 match points as a team. Freshman Lilly Luft notched the first gold medal for Iowa at 136 pounds, defeating Life’s Zaynah McBryde, once again, with a fall in 3:56. Luft pinned McBryde just a week ago at the Iowa Duals, only needing 1:42 to do so.
Two Hawkeyes met in the finals at 143, with sophomores Reese Larramendy and Ella Schmit fighting their way to first place. #5 Mavericks Make Quick Work of Adams State
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The No. 5 Colorado Mesa women’s wrestling team made quick work of the visiting Adams State Grizzlies in the final home dual of the season on Saturday (Jan. 27) evening. The Mavericks came away with a 44-4 win over the Grizzlies where they were victorious in nine of the ten bouts.
