The Chattanooga Mocs honored six on the mat and scoreboard on Senior Night at Maclellan Gym.
CHATTANOOGA—The Chattanooga Mocs cruised to a 47-4 win over the Presbyterian Blue Hose Friday night in Maclellan Gym. The Mocs are 10-3 overall, 4-1 in the Southern Conference wrestling standings, while the Blue Hose fall to 3-10, 0-3 in the league.
“Still not satisfied,” Coach Kyle Ruschell said as the interviewer knew anything less than 60-0 isn’t good enough. “I mean, at this level, are you ever really satisfied? We had a couple of classes where our guys needed to continue to push through the seven minutes instead of just kind of coasting in or settling for a decision when you can get a major or a major when a tech is possible.
“We need to do better a job and be in position, so it’s harder to get to us. We need to do better at looking for scores. But we saw a little bit of progress today.”
The match opened at 157 with a Lincoln Heck third period tech fall blanking Eli Holiday 18-0. Kamdyn Munro followed with a 13-3 major before Sergio Desiante put the match out of reach with a second period tech fall over Joshua Roe. The Blue Hose had forfeits coming at 125, 141 and 149 so the opening 14-point salvo clinched the win three matches into the contest.
Caleb Roe got the visitors on the board with a major of his own before a special couple of moments. Ryan Stein, wrestling up at 197, got his first career win with a third period tech followed by Senior Night festivities. … story at … GOmocs.com/Blue-hose-on-senior-night
