Conference Carolinas Unveils Bracket for Inaugural Men’s Wrestling Championship
GREENVILLE, S.C. – The bracket for the inaugural Conference Carolinas Men’s Wrestling Championship was unveiled following the conclusion of the conference regular season on Friday, Feb. 9, 2024. 
The 2024 Conference Carolinas Men’s Wrestling Championship will be held on Sunday, Feb. 18. East Division champion UNC Pembroke will serve as the host for the inaugural championship.  The championship will begin on Feb. 18 with the semifinals being held concurrently at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court inside the English E. Jones Center on the UNC Pembroke campus. West Division champion Lander will face off against East No. 2 Newberry in one of the semifinals, while host UNC Pembroke will battle West Division No. 2 King in the other semifinal.  The loser of the two semifinals will then face off in the third-place match at 1 p.m. on Feb. 18. Campbell has another strong showing, defeats Bellarmine 36-7
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Campbell Fighting Camels continued their dominant week, winning eight of 10 matches and defeated Bellarmine, 36-7, Sunday afternoon at Knights Hall. The Camels are now 11-3 (5-0 SoCon), while the Knights sit at 13-4 (3-3).   The match started the same way it did on Friday against The Citadel, with a pin and a tech fall. Anthony Molton pinned Damion Ryan in 4:44, and Domenic Zaccone followed his teammate with a 4:00 tech fall (24-8) over Trayce Eckman.  
Wynton Denkins earned the 12-6 decision victory over AJ Rallo at 141 pounds. Justin Rivera and Chris Earnest followed him with decisions of their own. Rivera secured a 4-2 win over Zac Cowan, while Earnest defeated Gray Ortis, 4-0. Bellarmine would win the next two bouts at 165 and 174 pounds, but the Camels would bounce back to win the final three by bonus-point margins.

Stemmet, Silka Falls Headline Bulldogs’ Senior Day Victory over Davidson, 36-7
CHARLESTON, S.C. — Bolstered by an early sudden victory from Jeff Boyd (149 lbs) and reinforced late via a pair of late falls from Ben Stemmet (285 lbs) and Jacob Silka (141 lbs), The Citadel (12-4, 4-2 SoCon) returned to the win column in impressive fashion against SoCon foe Davidson (1-13, 0-5 SoCon), ousting the Wildcats behind a 36-7 dual victory Sunday afternoon at McAlister Field House.

App State Wrestling Continues Winning Streak Over Mocs
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — App State Wrestling won seven of 10 matches, earning bonus points in six of them, to post a 28-13 victory at Chattanooga on Sunday.  Chad Bellis opened the dual with a major-decision shutout against a ranked opponent, and the Mountaineers (6-3, 3-1 SoCon) were ahead 15-13 before Tomas BrookerCarson Floyd and Jacob Sartorio closed the dual with bonus-point wins in App State’s ninth consecutive victory against the Mocs (10-4. 4-2). Brooker won via a 15-0 tech fall in the opening period at 184, Floyd secured a 12-3 major decision at 197 and Sartorio posted an 8-0 major decision at heavyweight.
With Chattanooga’s strength at the top of its lineup, Bellis gave App State a much-needed major decision by a 10-0 score against 30th-ranked Brayden Palmer in the opener at 125 pounds. Palmer is 11-2 this season, with his only losses occurring against Bellis.
Bellis, who built a late 11-2 lead on Palmer at the Southern Scuffle in early January before the reigning SoCon Champ and two-time NCAA qualifier suffered an injury on the final takedown, took a 3-0 lead on a takedown with 58 seconds left in the first period Sunday.

Gardner-Webb Wrestling Dominates Presbyterian 54-0
Runnin’ Bulldogs earn 10 out of 10 matches on their way to shutout team victory

CLINTON, S.C. – The Gardner-Webb University wrestling squad earned their second SoCon win of the season on Sunday afternoon defeating the Presbyterian College Blue Hose by a final team score of 54-0. The ‘Dawgs came out on top in all 10 on their individual matches in a dominating team performance.  
Gardner-Webb earned two wins by pin thanks to Andrew Wilson (Fall 1:49), and Peyton McComas (Fall 0:52). Samuel MoraJha’Quan Anderson, and Josh McCutchen all bested their PC opponents via tech fall while Tyler Brignola best PC’s Elijah Holiday by major decision 14-4. Drew WestTodd Carter and Zach Price all won their respective matches via forfeit.
