N.C. State Tallies Top-10 Win Over Cornell
RALEIGH – In its last non-conference match-up of the season, No. 8 NC State wrestling (14-2, 3-0) topped ninth-ranked Cornell (10-4) on Friday night with a 24-9 score in front of a packed Reynolds Coliseum. 
The win marked the Pack’s highest ranked victory of the season and handed the Big Red its first loss to an ACC school this season. 
The night started out strong with a quick 15-0 team lead through the first four bouts. Jakob Camacho kicked off the night in style when he upset No. 13 Brett Ungar by a 5-1 decision, making it his second highest ranked win of the season. 
Kai Orine put on a show as he dominated his opponent with four near falls, landing a shutout technical fall in the second period. Gardner-Webb Falls To The Citadel in Friday Night Match
Runnin’ Bulldogs earn first SoCon win of the season winning six matches on the night

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb University wrestling squad was bested by the the Bulldogs of The Citadel on Friday night by a final team score of 19-14. The match saw the Runnin’ Bulldogs come out on top four times to The Citadel’s six.
Gardner-Webb earned four victories with Drew West earning a major decision, and Tyson Lane and Todd Carter picked up wins on decisions. Jha’Quan Anderson continued his dominant season earning major decision to round out the evening. Ultimately this was not enough to earn the team victory.

Davidson Wildcats Take Down VMI in Thrilling Fashion
LEXINGTON, Va. – Senior Bryce Sanderlin secured an 18-3 tech fall win in the final bout Friday night to give the Davidson wrestling team its first dual victory since Dec. 16.
The match was tied 19-19 going into the 165-pound match, and Sanderlin’s decisive win put the ‘Cats back in the win column. Davidson looked sharp early on despite dropping the 174-pound bout in a tight 2-0 decision. From there, freshman Wyatt Ferguson made quick work of his opponent with an early second-period pin to put the ‘Cats in front, 6-3.
Seniors Cameo Blankenship and Jake Fernicola followed that up with victories as Blankenship gutted out a 4-1 overtime win by securing a takedown midway through the first extra period. Fernicola was able to get his hand raised behind seven first-period points to earn the 11-9 win. Davidson led 12-3.
VMI clapped right back with a major decision win at 125 and a pin at 133 to go back in front, 13-12.
Even though the dual came down to the final bout, the match of the night for the Wildcats was at 141-pounds. Junior Joshua Viarengo shocked VMI’s Patrick Jordon in an impressive 11-8 victory. UNC Wrestling Downs Virginia In ACC Road Dual
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. – Bonus point victories from Spencer Moore and Sabino Portella paced the North Carolina wrestling team (10-7, 2-2 ACC) over Virginia, 18-16, Friday night in Atlantic Coast Conference action. Moore (125) collected his fourth technical fall of the campaign, while Portella (184) earned his first collegiate major decision. Jayden Scott (149) earned a sudden victory decision, with Sonny Santiago (157) and Max Shaw (197) rounding out the Tar Heel wins on the night.
With the win, Carolina has now won seven-straight duals against Virginia, including four consecutive in Charlottesville.
