It’s the final weekend of the DI regular season! Time flies when you’re not cutting weight. We’ll finish off the regular season by primarily focusing on duals. A total of 39 duals will be contested over the next four days. Since it can be difficult to figure out where and when to watch all of these events, InterMat has put together a list of all of the live-streamed events occurring this week. Conference Carolinas releases bracket for Men’s Wrestling Championship
GREENVILLE, S.C. – The bracket for the Conference Carolinas Men’s Wrestling Championship was unveiled following the conclusion of the conference regular season on Tuesday. The 2025 Conference Carolinas Men’s Wrestling Championship will be held on Sunday, February 16. West Division champion Lander University will serve as the host for the championship at Finis Horne Arena in Greenwood, South Carolina. BOONE, N.C. — App State Wrestling veteran Carson Floyd said he looked forward to the challenge of being one of his team’s closers, knowing he would compete in the next-to-last match Sunday during a SoCon home dual against Chattanooga.

Bellarmine Wrestling celebrates senior day with big 42-3 win over Davidson
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Celebrating eight seniors and honoring the military in their final home dual of the season, the Bellarmine University wrestling team closed out the home portion of its schedule with its largest margin of victory, taking down Davidson 42-3 on Sunday afternoon.
“I’m so grateful for the contributions of our seniors. They’ve seen a really cool transformation over the last four seasons and through our transition to Division I,” head coach Ned Shuck said of the eight seniors the team honored before today’s dual. “That’s loyalty through and through. Appalachian State Overcoming Adversity In Chase For Another SoCon Title
Appalachian State’s wrestling season has been filled with challenges, but the Mountaineers remain in contention to win another Southern Conference title.
For the Appalachian State wrestling program, the 2024-25 season has been a bit of an emotional rollercoaster for coaches, wrestlers, and fans alike.
In June, head coach JohnMark Bentley received a contract extension through the 2028-29 season, much to the joy of many in Boone, North Carolina.
Bentley’s extension was certainly well-deserved and a testament to the Mountaineers’ dominance within the SoCon over the last 15 seasons under his leadership.
The statistics are staggering, to say the least. Vice President of Athletics and Recreation Leonard Trevino has announced the addition of Men’s and Women’s Wrestling as the school’s 24th and 25th intercollegiate programs.
These programs, which join Women’s Flag Football and Competitive Cheer as recent additions to Chatham, are set to begin competition in the fall of 2026.

Northwestern Wrestling Mourns the Passing of Former Head Coach Tom Jarman
Wheaton Wrestling Remembers its first National Champion, Tom Jarman (’65)
Former Wheaton College wrestler Tom Jarman (’65), died Thursday, January 30. Jarman was Wheaton wrestling’s first National Champion and the College’s second individual National Champion in any sport. As a sophomore in 1963, Jarman won the National Championship in the 157-pound weight class at the first NCAA College Division III Tournament, helping Wheaton to a sixth-place finish at the tournament. He followed up his National Championship season with a fourth-place finish at Nationals in 1964. He was inducted into the Wheaton College “Hall of Honor” in 1977, entering in the hall of fame’s second induction class. Wheaton head coach Jim Gruenwald says of Jarman, “As an athlete Tom was amazing, as a coach, he was even better, and as a friend and mentor he was priceless.” Gruenwald continues, “Tom Jarman was instrumental in bringing me to Wheaton. But he didn’t stop there, he coached me to be a better coach. Regular calls and encouragement helped me through the first few years of building the program, to choosing captains, and remaining calm through the difficult moments. He is loved and will be missed.” Following his time on the mat at Wheaton, Jarman went into coaching. He served as the head wrestling coach at Taylor University from 1969-79 where he led the Trojans to a dual meet record of 119-21. Northwestern Wrestling Mourns the Passing of Former Head Coach Tom Jarman
EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern wrestling mourns the passing of former head coach Tom Jarman, who passed away on Thursday, January 30, at the age of 82. Jarman served as Northwestern’s head wrestling coach from 1979 to 1989. During his decade in Evanston, Jarman guided the Wildcats to a 111-79 record in dual action. In 1985, he piloted the team to a fourth-place finish in the Big Ten – its highest placement in 14 years. Four years later, Jarman’s 1989 squad finished eighth overall at the NCAA Championships, for what was then the second-highest finish in program history. Overall, Jarman guided Northwestern to seven seasons of double-digit dual victories, including back-to-back 15-win seasons in 1986 and ’87. Under Jarman’s tutelage, the Wildcats earned seven All-American honors and qualified 26 athletes to the NCAA Tournament. Mike Funk, the program’s first four-time All-American, began his Northwestern career under Jarman in 1987 and wrestled to a fourth-place finish at 177 lbs that spring. To cap off his time at Northwestern, Jarman coached two wrestlers to Big Ten Championships in 1989: Jack Griffin at 118 lbs and Mark Whitehead at 190 lbs. Paulsboro’s Paul Morina sits atop New Jersey wrestling win list with 803
PAULSBORO – Before taking a shot at history, Paul Morina sat alone on the top of the bleachers, looking at the future of the Paulsboro High School wrestling team in the middle school meet. Hours later, Morina sat alone again – this time atop the state’s all-time win list of wrestling coaches in New Jersey history. Morina watched his Red Raiders put together one of their best performances of the season as the team presented its coach with career win No. 803, knocking off bitter rival West Deptford with a 36-27 decision on Wednesday. Morina, the face of Paulsboro wrestling for 40 years as head coach, surpassed Stan Woods, who won 802 times in his 57-year coaching career, including 55 years at Emerson/Park Ridge. ASICS January 29 Race for the Hodge Trophy Update

This March, WIN Magazine, Culture House and ASICS will announce the winner of the prestigious 2025 Dan Hodge Trophy that will be presented to the nation’s top NCAA Division I wrestler, following the March 20-22 NCAA Championships in Philadelphia. Between now and then, WIN Magazine will provide a weekly update, every Tuesday, at WIN-Magazine.com on this year’s race for the coveted trophy, which was created in 1994 by former WIN publisher Mike Chapman and named after Dan Hodge, the late three-time NCAA champion (1955-57) from the University of Oklahoma. In addition to former Hodge Trophy winners, a retired coach from each region, and national media members, wrestling fans can once again be part of the voting as well. Shortly after the NCAAs, fans will be able to vote online at WIN-Magazine.com with the winner earning five first-place votes. The criteria for winning the award are record, dominance/bonus-point percentage, quality of competition and sportsmanship.
