NC State wrestling’s senior class leaves behind legacy of greatness
For the last several seasons, NC State wrestling has enjoyed the talents of one of the more impressive classes in program history. This year’s senior class features All-Americans, ACC Champions and strong leaders, both on and off the mat. “They’re everything,” said head coach Pat Popolizio. “When you get a senior class that sticks here, whether they’re here five years, six years, four years — they pour their heart and soul into this program.”
In its latest match, a 27-13 victory over Stanford, the Wolfpack honored seven wrestlers as a part of its senior day celebration. App. State Clinches Share of SoCon Title, Seeks Outright Title Next Sunday
BOONE, N.C. — App State Wrestling clinched at least a share of a SoCon regular-season title in dominant fashion, setting the stage for a big rivalry matchup against Campbell to close the regular season next Sunday in Varsity Gym. The Mountaineers improved to 8-3 overall and 7-0 in the league thanks to a 52-0 home shutout of Davidson on Sunday. They recorded six pins, including five in a row during one crowd-pleasing stretch, on the way to their Division I-leading 19th dual shutout since the calendar flipped to 2020. With the six pins, one tech fall, two major decisions and one decision, App State also tallied its most team points in a dual that had no forfeits since JohnMark Bentley became the program’s head coach in 2009. Cardinal defeats Blue Devils, 37-12, in Durham
DURHAM, N.C. – No. 17 Stanford registered seven wins by bonus points to defeat Duke, 37-12, Sunday, at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Cardinal, which tallied its most points in a dual this season, improves to 10-4 overall and 2-3 in the ACC. The Blue Devils drop to 4-14 overall and 0-6 in ACC action. The dual began at 184 pounds where Stanford’s Cole Han-Lindemyer set the tone with an 11-2 major decision over David Hussey. The true freshman registered the first dual win of his career and moves to 5-3 overall. American Wrestling Falls to Virginia, 30-8
CHARLOTTESVILLE – The American University wrestling team was defeated by the Virginia Cavaliers in a dual meet on the road on Sunday afternoon, falling 30-8. The loss drops AU’s overall record to 9-9 with three duals remaining this season.

Trailing 2-1 in the third period, the graduate senior recorded an escape and a takedown to take the lead with just 42 seconds remaining. Generals Celebrate Four First-Place Finishers at ODAC Wrestling Tournament
LEXINGTON, Va. — The Washington and Lee University wrestling team dominated the ODAC Individual Championships on Saturday evening with seven wrestlers appearing in the championship bouts in front of a home crowd at Holekamp Gymnasium. The Generals earned four individual championships, nine earned All-ODAC accolades by finishing on the podium and all ten placed in the top-5 of every weight class. With 156 team points, the Generals edged out Roanoke College (134.5) and Averett University (133.5) to take first place in the team tournament standings. American Wrestling Earns 10th Dual Win For First Time Since 2011, 19-17 over George Mason
FAIRFAX, Va. – Timely wrestling was the story of AU’s performance in tonight’s dual meet against George Mason, as the Eagles tallied 28 third period points and won two bouts from behind on their way to a 19-17 win.

Will Jarrell got AU back on track with a technical fall against Ean Winchester, dominating the bout with three takedowns while earning eight near fall points on his way to a 19-1 victory. Tonight’s dual began at 174, and Caleb Campos took care of business for AU with a 14-5 major decision against Mason’s Riley Hackworth. He got going in the second period, pulling off a double reversal and a takedown to take a 9-4 lead, then cruised to the major. Next up was Carsten Rawls at 197, who lost a close bout against Tyler Kocak.
