Recapping the SoCon (11/19/2025)

The past few weeks have been full of SoCon action – tournaments, dual meets, and our first conference matchup on a battleship. Most of the conference found themselves at the Southeast Open, with top placements including Thomas Snipes (165, CIT) and Beau Lewis (174, VMI) earning gold in the Open and Freshman/Sophomore divisions, and Jeremiah Price (157, ASU) placing second in the Open division. At the Michigan State Open, Cody Kirk (184, DAV) also placed second in the Freshman/Sophomore division.  This past weekend the Throwdown on the Yorktown II took place. Campbell dropped a 32-6 dual to #2-ranked DII Lander, with Logan Heil (133) and Pablo Macias (157) winning by decision. Anthony Ferrari (165) and Conor Maslanek (197) earned ranked wins over Penn’s #32 Sean Seefeldt and #27 Martin Cosgrove. The Camels faced off against the Presbyterian Blue Hose for their first conference duals of the season. The dual came down to the heavyweight bout – Presbyterian’s Morvens Saint Jean defeated Campbell’s Brycen Arthur, concluding the dual at 21-19.  *Presbyterian deducted one team point due to unsportsmanlike conduct.
The Citadel faced off against #30 Maryland and the Air Force Academy. Jacob Silka  (157) and Thomas Snipes (165) were key contributors in both duals, winning both matches by decision. Ultimately, Bulldogs lost both duals – 23-12 against Air Force, and 24-9 against Maryland.
Gardner-Webb split their duals between #30 Maryland and Air Force. The Runnin’ Bulldogs bested the Falcons 20-18, with Joseph Giordano (157) and Josh McCutchen (197) putting bonus points on the board with major decision victories. The ‘Dawgs lost the dual against Maryland, … more at … https://intermatwrestle.com/articles.html/college/socon/recapping-the-socon-11192025-r100652/
