Newberry Dominates Allen University in 32–17 Victory

COLUMBIA, SC –The Newberry Wolves men’s wrestling team delivered a strong all-around performance on Tuesday night, earning a 32–17 win on the road against Allen University. After dropping the opening bout at 184, Newberry quickly found its rhythm with John Parker-Wilson getting the Wolves on the board at 197, securing a first-period fall. That momentum carried into heavyweight, where Kale Schrader followed with another pin to give Newberry early control.
At 125, Hunter McCullough battled in a tough match and won by tech fall, and the Wolves didn’t slow down. Following that performance, the wolves pushed with a series of dominant performances in the middle weights. Caiden Pelc, Cole McCullough, and Matt Hoelke each recorded decisive wins. Pelc and McCullough with back-to-back first-period pins and Hoelke with a convincing 7–1 decision at 157. After a setback at 149, Newberry regained full command when Malachi Thomas ended his match with a fall at 165.
