#8 North Carolina State Wolfpack Dominates CSU Bakersfield in California
GILROY, Calif. – Eighth-ranked NC State wrestling added another win to go 2-0 in their trip to the West Coast. The Wolfpack dominated CSU Bakersfield by a 43-3 score in a neutral-site on Sunday afternoon. NC State wrestling secured its 11th win of the season after defeating CSU Bakersfield 43-3 in a neutral-site dual on Sunday afternoon. The Pack won nine of the 10 bouts, with eight being delivered with bonus points. Collectively, the squad tallied two falls, four by technical fall, and two major decisions. Freshman Jason Kwaak stepped into the lineup for the second time this season, this time competing at 157 lbs, and found a win over his opponent.
Closing out the dual, Isaac Trumble tallied his fourth fall from this season alone, improving to seven of his nine bouts being bonus point wins.

Newberry Wolves Dominate the Mat: Newberry Men’s Wrestling Defeats Coker 29-15
HARTSVILLE, SC – The Newberry College Wolves men’s wrestling team delivered a complete performance on Thursday night, earning a 29-15 dual victory over Coker University and showcasing depth from top to bottom of the lineup.
The Wolves jumped out to an early lead at 125 pounds, where Ricky Springs set the tone with an offensive-heavy effort, securing a 17-1 technical fall at 5:33 to put Newberry up 5-0. Momentum continued at 133 as Hunter McCullough needed just 3:39 to pin Weston Bare, extending the Wolves’ lead and igniting the Newberry bench. At 141, Ben Guilliam stayed composed in a tight bout, earning a 4-2 decision to give the Wolves a commanding early advantage.
Coker answered back in the middle weights, picking up wins at 149 and 157 to narrow the gap, but Newberry quickly regained control. At 165, Bo Perkins delivered one of the night’s biggest moments, battling through a tough match before earning a fall at 5:17, pushing the Wolves further ahead. #8 North Carolina State Guts Out a 21-20 Win Over #24 Stanford
PALO ALTO, Calif. – Eighth-ranked NC State wrestling edged past 24th-ranked Stanford 21-20 Friday night in the Pack’s first-ever trip to The Farm. In a fiery conference competition, NC State crept past Stanford just barely in the squad’s second ACC dual of the season to move 10-3 overall and 2-0 in the ACC. Coming out with a bang, sixth-year veteran No. 12 Ryan Jack at 141 lbs pinned #17 Jack Consiglio to immediately put the Pack up 6-0 off the bat.
Following up with a statement win, fifth-ranked Koy Buesgens at 149 lbs collected a major decision over ninth-ranked Aden Valencia. Continuing to show his growth in the off-season, the redshirt-sophomore improves to 15-1 in his second career campaign.
After dropping the match at 157 lbs, freshman standout No. 16 Will Denny at 165 lbs snagged a tight 6-5 win, followed up by a decision by fifth-ranked Matty Singleton at 174 lbs as well, to put the team score at 16-5. NC State then faced back-to-back losses at 184 and 197 lbs to allow the Cardinal to creep back in, 16-14.
Reliable veteran Isaac Trumble, ranked second in the country at heavyweight, provided much-needed bonus points with a technical fall. Averett remains undefeated in ODAC with victory over Greensboro
Greensboro, N.C. — Averett University men’s wrestling remains undefeated in conference play after a 42-6 victory over Greensboro College on Thursday night.
Averett (12-8, 4-0 ODAC) jumped out to an early lead with back-to-back forfeits at 125 and 133 pounds as juniors Dominic Pascoe and A.J. Orlando III each picked up automatic wins, giving the Cougars a 12-0 advantage over Greensboro (0-5, 0-1 ODAC).
Fifth year senior Mauricio Reyes followed at 141 pounds with an 11-3 major decision over Ivan Benitez. At 149 pounds, senior Landon Neal earned a 13-7 decision over Josue DelCid. Junior Carter Shupert needed just 55 seconds to pin Carson Gardner at 157 pounds.
Greensboro found success at 174 and 184 pounds, bringing the score to 31-7 in favor of Averett. The Cougars responded quickly with senior Jacob Jimenez securing a 17-2 technical fall at 197 pounds. The short story: The No. 1 ranked Roanoke College wrestling team earned extra points in every weight class Thursday night and rolled to a 53-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference win at Shenandoah University.
How it happened:
*Three Maroons won by pin on the night: Ryan Saunders (125 in 2:24), Brock Sullivan (184 in 4:18) and Cam Cavins (285 in 3:15).
*Jake Yowell scored a 16-0 technical fall victory at 141. Jackson Rowling (149), Bailey Wilman (157), Cade Parent (165) and Lorenzo Pellot-Vázquez (197) also had technical falls.

The short story: The No. 6 ranked Roanoke College wrestling team defeated the top two teams in the nation Saturday to win the NWCA/USMC Multi-Division National Dual Meet Championships, hosted by the University of Northern Iowa.
After two wins against ranked opponents Friday, the Maroons downed No. 2 Augsburg 23-11 in the semifinals. RC led 9-8 against No. 1 Wartburg in the finals after five of the 10 matches, but Cade Parent (7-5) at 165 pounds and Xavier Preston (18-7) at 174 scored important victories to push the lead to 16-8. Hunter Moore’s 8-5 win at 197 sealed the dual match victory and the team championship.
