Five Tar Heels Earn NWCA Scholar All-America Recognition
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Five North Carolina wrestlers collected Scholar All-America recognition, the National Wresting Coaches Association Announced.
Jake Dailey, Charlie Darracott, Bryce Hepner, Cullen Kane and Kysen Terukina were honored for their efforts in the classroom, joining a group of 390 student-athletes representing 73 institutions for their academic success in the classroom.
Dailey, a redshirt-freshman, won 19 matches throughout the season. An exercise and sport science major, the Kingston, Pa. product was the ACC runner-up at 184 pounds and qualified for his first career national tournament in the postseason.
Darracott, a graduate student in his second season in Chapel Hill, posted eight wins during the campaign. Darracott posted multiple wins at Soldier Salute, and three-straight wins to secure the 165-pound title at the Mountaineer Open in November.
Hepner, a first-year Tar Heel during the 2025-26 season, had 19 wins during his first season at Carolina. Hepner finished seventh at 165 pounds last month at the NCAA Championships, while pursuing his master’s degree in applied professional studies.
