College Schedules – 2021 – # 3

TDR Editor’s Notes ; Another slate of college teams’ achedules to look over. As can be noticed the schedules are shorter than usual with fewer chances to cheer on your favorite team and wrestlers in a person in a live match. With the CoVid related attendance restriction the chances become even fewer. Thus most of us won’t get a chance to attend, cheer on and support college wrestling in person. We encourage that college wrestling fans (yes you the reader) to donate what you would spend in attending meets as well as you can and feel so inclined to your team or other college programs in need. This would show support and encourage the coaches, wrestlers and administrators to see wrestling as a sport worthy of support by the school. We welcome other suggestions and ideas on how to support college teams. E-mail us at the Editor’s office at

2 } – Cascade Conference to skip men’s and women’s conference wrestling championships
National tournaments still planned
CORVALLIS, Ore.– The Cascade Collegiate Conference championships in both men’s and women’s wrestling, previously set to take place in February, will not be conducted as originally planned, the conference announced on Monday. “With our large wrestling footprint covering Arizona, California, Oregon and Montana, the prospect of successfully getting all teams to tournaments during a time when the COVID-19 pandemic is surging seemed very unrealistic and not in the best interests of health and safety,” stated CCC Commissioner Robert Cashell. “The NAIA has changed the qualification process for men’s wrestling for the 2021 national championship, which has afforded conferences the ability to identify representatives in an alternative manner.” In men’s wrestling, the CCC was allotted 46 qualification slots to nationals, which was based on the past three-year average for the conference. … rest of story at https://www.montanasports.com/frontier-conference/cascade-conference-to-skip-mens-and-womens-conference-wrestling-championships?mc_cid=e96ed12e50&mc_eid=2ef7cbca4b

I’m just trying to keep this train moving and quite frankly, I think (a season) is going to happen. “There were times I would’ve said that optimistically and not really meant it. I think there will be hiccups and canceled events and matches where the wrong team wins because of so many guys out and there’ll be some weird things, but … rest of story at http://www.thecourierexpress.com/sports/schedule-on-horizon-for-clarion-u-wrestlers/article_5381f84b-cc8c-57bd-972e-716868ab3334.html?mc_cid=fecb1aa0c2&mc_eid=2ef7cbca4b
