Wrestling to Host Free Clinic
RALEIGH, N.C. – Wolfpack Wrestling will hold an open clinic on Friday, February 7 prior to the Pack’s home dual vs. North Carolina at the Weisiger-Brown Athletic Facility (the Wolfpack’s Wrestling Room). The clinic will be from 5:45-6:30 p.m. The clinic is free and open to any and all entrants, but you must pre-register by email to tmccall2@ncsu.edu.Print Friendly Version

Trent Hidlay Named ACC Wrestler of the Week
R-Fr. earns fourth top-10 win of the season, second ACC honor
RALEIGH, N.C. – R-Fr. Trent Hidlay has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Wrestler of the Week for the second time this season after his win at 184 pounds helped the Wolfpack to a key ACC team victory Saturday night at No. 10 Pitt. In the final bout of the top-10 team dual, the third-ranked Hidlay scored a 6-3 decision over No. 7 Nino Bonaccorsi to secure NC State’s 21-12 victory. Hidlay scored a pair of takedowns in the first period, the lone takedowns of the bout. The Lewistown, Pa., native now has four wins over top-10 foes this season, and five ranked wins overall. Hidlay is a perfect 12-0 in duals this season, outscoring his foes 120-44, with a pair of pins. Hidlay and the Pack return to home action this Friday night, as the #3 Wolfpack will host #8 North Carolina in a top-10 ACC dual. PackWrestle Opens ACC Action with 28-9 Win over Virginia
NC State won seven straight matches during the dual
RALEIGH, N.C. – The fifth ranked NC State wrestling team opened its ACC slate in convincing fashion, posting a 28-9 win over Virginia inside Reynolds Coliseum. After won the first bout at 125 pounds, the Wolfpack (11-0) won seven straight, and won eight of the 10 matches overall.

 The ACC dual started at 125 pounds. R-Fr. Jakob Camacho scored the lone takedown in the third period, but came up short against #2 Jack Mueller, 5-2. The Pack evened it up in the next bout, as R-Fr. Jarrett Trombley scored his second top-20 win of the season after he got a third period takedown and adding in the ride time point to take out #20 Louie Hayes, 4-2. #4 PackWrestle Comes Home with 21-12 Win at #10 Pitt
Pack gets first top-10 road win since 2016 season
PITTSBURGH, PA. – The fourth ranked NC State wrestling team upped its season record to a perfect 12-0 as the Wolfpack scored a 21-12 win at #10 Pitt in ACC action. NC State won six of the 10 bouts, including five of the final six, and added a pair of bonus point wins while not conceding any.
The win was the first at a top-10 opponent since the Pack win 21-17 at #2 Iowa in 2016.
