Northern Illinois Huskies Down Cougars, 29-9
EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University wrestling team got back in the win column with a 29-9 victory over conference foe and in-state rival SIUE, 29-9, Saturday. The Huskies (9-4, 4-2) won seven of the 10 bouts, scoring a pair of maj. dec. and pin victories on the night.  “Those guys competed hard and worked out there,” said NIU head coach Ryan Ludwig. “It was good team energy. Hofstra Picks Up Pair Of EIWA Victories;
Extends Win Streak To Four
Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra University wrestling team picked up a pair of Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association victories Saturday, defeating Franklin & Marshall, 45-3, and Columbia, 24-14, at the David S. Mack Physical Education Center Saturday night. The wins moved Hofstra’s win streak to four matches. The Pride is now 7-5 overall and 4-0 in the EIWA following the wins. The Diplomats of Franklin & Marshall are 4-6 overall and 1-5 in EIWA action. Cleveland State Wins Thriller Over Kent State, 16-15
The Cleveland State University wrestling team dug itself a huge early hole, but the Vikings did not give up and rallied to claim a thrilling 16-15 victory at Kent State Saturday evening at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center. The Vikings took a four-point lead into the final match, but the team outcome was still in doubt in the final seconds of the bout as Kent State had a chance to tie the dual with a major decision. However, redshirt freshman Riley Smucker was able to avoid the worst-case scenario to ensure a CSU victory. Penn  Sweeps Brown and Harvard in Ivy Doubleheader
PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania wrestling team opened Ivy League play with a pair of big victories on the road. On Saturday, the Quakers started the day with a 19-19 win by criteria against Brown, then capped off their road trip with a 22-19 victory against Harvard.

Navy Wrestling Opens, Finishes Strong in 23-15 Win Over Drexel
Sparked by junior Andrew Buckley’s 10-5 win at 184 pounds, the Navy wrestling team (6-4, 3-1 EIWA) won the final three bouts of the afternoon to earn a 23-15 victory over Drexel (6-7, 2-3 EIWA) Saturday afternoon at Daskalakis Athletic Center in Philadelphia. Parris Pins to Slam Door on No. 23 Rutgers at MSG Super Saturday
» No. 25 Michigan started with wins in four of the opening five matches and finished with a first-period pin from Mason Parris to beat No. 23 Rutgers, 21-16, on Super Saturday at Madison Square Garden.
» Parris pinned Alex Esposito in 1:17 to seal the Wolverine dual win in the final bout; he improved to 22-0 on the season with 14 bonus wins and eight pins.
» Jack Medley earned a 2-1 win over No. 16 Nicolas Aguilar at 125 pounds; it was his fourth win over a ranked opponent this season.

#1 St. Cloud State wrestling rolls to a 33-3 win at Minnesota State on Feb. 1

Scranton Wrestling, Russomano Make History in Convincing Win over Alfred State

SUNY-Brockport Win Over #21 Muhlenberg Highlights an Unbeaten Day at WPI Duals
WORCESTER, MA – The SUNY Brockport wrestling team went 3-0 at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute duals on Saturday as the Golden Eagles picked up keys wins over nationally-ranked No. 21 Muhlenberg, Southern Maine and host WPI to remain unbeaten in dual competition this season.  Brockport’s dual record improved to 8-0 on the year and legendary 50th year Head Coach Don Murray moved his win total to 359 for his career.  Brockport topped Muhlenberg, ranked No. 21 nationally by InterMat, by the score of 26-13 to open the dual. #8 Johnson & Wales Win a Trio in Springfield
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Johnson & Wales University wrestling team continued its dual meet dominance on Saturday at Springfield College. Eighth-ranked Johnson & Wales opened by beating Castleton, 27-13, then topped Cortland State, 35-13. The Wildcats ended the day by toppling Springfield, 22-15. The trio of wins ran the Wildcats’ record to 21-6. Gray, WInkler Lead No. 6 UCO Past No. 3 Lopers
KEARNEY, Neb. (Feb. 1) – Heath Gray and Kalin Winkler scored back-to-back first-period falls to put Central Oklahoma in the lead and a last-match forfeit sealed the Bronchos’ 24-17 upset of No. 3 Nebraska-Kearney Saturday afternoon. Tre’Vaughn Craig won a 174 pounds before Gray and Winkler notched their dramatic pins in the next two weights as UCO turned a 14-3 deficit into an 18-14 lead. The Lopers got within one with a close decision at heavyweight, but Studd Morris received a forfeit in the final bout at 125 to seal the dual. Central improved to 11-1 overall and 3-0 in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association with its sixth straight win and second this season over the Lopers. Williams College Ephs Go 2-0 Against Plymouth and Bridgewater State
BRIDGEWATER STATE, MA – The Williams College Wrestling Team traveled to Bridgewater State University today to take part in another series of duals being held there. Similar to the triduals setup from the prior week, the Ephs had the opportunity to compete against both Bridgewater State and Plymouth State Wrestling. A mixed 1-1 record against Hunter College and Western New England University last weekend had the Ephs eager to return to their winning ways.  Bridgewater state entered the competition with a mixed record of their own after earning a 2-2 record at the NEWA duals in mid-January. Washington & Lee Ties Program Wins Record in 48-2 Victory Over SVU
LEXINGTON, Va. – The Washington and Lee wrestling team tied the program record for wins in a season by winning nine of 10 individual matches in posting a 48-2 victory over Southern Virginia on Saturday evening at the Student Activities Pavilion. WHEATON, Ill. (Feb. 1, 2020) – A historic two-day performance propelled the North Central College men’s wrestling team ahead of 33 other teams at the Wheaton College Pete Willson Invitational, where individual first-place finishers Cody Baldridge and Ben Bergen helped secure the Cardinals’ highest finish in program history.  The Cardinals led a three-way battle for first after Friday, edging 13th-ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater by two points and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire by 2.5 points. The Cardinals would only lengthen their lead on the final day, finishing with 120.5 points to beat out the Warhawks in second with 110 points and 22nd-ranked John Carroll University in third with 102 points. The Blugolds and 16th-ranked Messiah College rounded out the top five finishers with 97 and 88 points, respectively.
