American University Wrestling Inks Five Recruits for 2023 on National Signing Day
WASHINGTON – Second-year head coach Jason Borrelli has announced the addition of five recruits for the 2023-24 season, with all five officially committing to American University wrestling on National Signing Day. Coen Bainey (Julian, Pa./Bald Eagle), Caleb Beaty (Clayton, N.C./Corinth Holders), Kaden Milheim (Muncy, Pa./Warrior Run), Gage Owen (Mt. App State’s Carter named SoCon Wrestler of the Week
Opened the 2022-23 campaign with a win over a top-15 ranked opponent
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – App State’s Sean Carter has been named the Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week for all competition from Nov. 1-8. The selection is made by the league office and is the first one of the 2022-23 season.
Carter, who is ranked No. 22 at 133 pounds, began his 2022-23 season with a win over a nationally ranked opponent on Friday, Nov. 4, at Reynolds Coliseum in Raleigh, North Carolina. The fourth-year junior made his season debut with a 3-1 decision in overtime over 11th-ranked North Carolina State wrestler Kai Orine. The North Babylon, New York, native helped the Mountaineers (0-1, 0-0 SoCon) to wins in four of 10 matches against the ninth-ranked Wolfpack, which won the dual 26-12.
