Hayden Hidlay Named ACC Wrestler of the Week for Third Time

RALEIGH, N.C. – For the third time this season, and for a second straight time, R-Jr. Hayden Hidlay has been named the ACC Wrestler of the Week.
This week’s honor comes after Hidlay won the 157-pound weight class at the Southern Scuffle, the first individual title for NC State at the event since 2009. Hidlay went a perfect 5-0, all bonus point wins, and outscored his foes 50-6 including a first-period pin.
In the finals in a top-10 match, Hidlay downed #7 Jesse Dellavecchia of Rider in a convincing 10-0 major decision, which included 4:47 of ride time.
Hidlay is ranked #2 at 157 pounds in all six polls this week.
Hidlay and the No. 6 NC State wrestling team will return to home action this weekend, as the Wolfpack will host No. 12 Princeton on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Reynolds Coliseum.
