Pennsylvania Univ. Beats Binghamton and Long Island in Home Opener

The University of Pennsylvania wrestling team returned to The Palestra for the first time in 2020 and graced The Cathedral with a pair of dominating EIWA victories. In the season’s home opener, Penn won 17 of the doubleheader’s 20 duals with nine of those duals adding bonus points. Mich. state Spartan Secures 36-0 Shutout Victory over Maryland
EAST LANSING, Mich. — Michigan State wrestling used three bonus point wins to secure a 36-0 shutout victory over Maryland on Sunday afternoon inside Jenison Field House on Alumni Day. The shutout marks the first for the Spartans over a Big Ten opponent in 36 years, last coming against Illinois on Jan. 20, 1984. (44-0).

Penn State Rolls Over Rutgers 38-6 in Sold Out Rec Hall

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State Nittany Lions (6-1, 3-0 B1G), ranked No. 2 in the latest InterMat Tournament Power Index, rolled over visiting Rutgers (7-3, 2-2) in sold out Rec Hall.  Head coach Cael Sanderson‘s squad used three pins to post a lopsided 38-6 victory over the Scarlet Knights in an ESPN2 national telecast. Penn State won eight of ten bouts and picked up 14 bonus points in the victory. PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel wrestling team won seven total bouts and scored a pair of technical falls in a 28-9 win against Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association foe Binghamton on Sunday evening at the Daskalakis Athletic Center. Sunday’s victory snapped a 12-match losing streak against the Bearcats. Drexel last topped Binghamton in Dec. 2006, a 30-15 triumph for the Dragons.

Augustana Vikings Dominate MSU Moorhead For Fifth-Straight Victory
MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Augustana wrestling team dominated the MSU Moorhead Dragons 33-6 Sunday afternoon en route to its fifth-consecutive dual victory. No. 16 lindenwood Powers Past UIndy on Sunday

The No. 16 Lindenwood wrestling team (5-2, 2-0 GLVC) powered its way past UIndy (5-5, 0-1 GLVC) on Sunday, posting a 35-6 win in Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo.

#6 Johnson & Wales Captures 4th-Straight NEWA Duals Title

PROVIDENCE, RI – From the first match to the last, the Johnson & Wales University wrestling team was on a mission Sunday at the NEWA Dual Championships. The sixth-ranked Wildcats rolled to their fourth-straight championship at the Rhode Island Convention Center. Johnson & Wales is the first program in New England to win four-straight NEWA titles. Overall, JWU has won eight NEWA Championships. The Wildcats blanked Plymouth State, 54-0, to start the day then beat WPI, 44-3. Johnson & Wales stopped Roger Williams, 36-8, before taking down #10 Coast Guard, 30-8, in the finals. Bucknell Drops Brown, 31-3

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell wrestling team won nine of 10 bouts to drop Brown, 31-3, on Sunday afternoon at Davis Gym. The Bison (4-3, 3-1 EIWA) netted bonus points in two of their individual wins, helping them score their largest margin of victory over the Bears (0-3, 0-2 EIWA) in program history. They previously downed Brown, 31-7, on Feb. 19, 2011 in Providence, R.I. Zach Hartman, who is ranked as high as 16th nationally at 165 pounds, pinned his opponent in the first period for the second-straight dual. Mercyhurst Posts Victory Over Seton Hill
ERIE, Pa. — Michael Clark and Logan Grass scored bonus points to lift the Lakers to an 18-17 victory over visiting Seton Hill Sunday afternoon inside the Mercyhurst Athletic Center.  After dropping a decision at 125, Mercyhurst leveled the score with a 4-2 decision by Eric Bartos at 133. Alexis Soriano trailed 6-3 but was able to score an escape and a takedown to knot the score 6-6 heading to the third.
