Cowboy Wrestling Announces Bout at the Ballpark Against Michigan Set for February
STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State Cowboy wrestling program in partnership with REV Entertainment announced that the Cowboys will be returning to Bout at the Ballpark presented by Kubota for the second straight year to face Michigan on February 3, 2023, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
Last season, the Cowboys faced off with the Iowa Hawkeyes in the inaugural event. The event was a historical performance, especially for Daton Fix who wrestled in two bouts, one for Team USA and one for Oklahoma State, becoming the first wrestler to represent his university and country on the same day. Fix won both matches defeating Guessepe Rea of Ecuador, 10-0, in a freestyle bout, before getting the best of Iowa’s third-ranked Austin Desanto for the third time in his career with a 5-3 decision.
The event will feature a new format this year, with one wrestling mat placed on home plate. Floor seating will also be added for the event. Bout at the Ballpark will mark the seventh meeting between the two programs who have not wrestled each other in a dual since 2004. … rest of story at OKstate.com/news/cowboy-wrestling-announces-bout-at-the-ballpark-against-michigan-set-for-february
